Krazy Alienz is now available for download on the Xbox Live Markeplace for only 80 MSP!
Christchurch, New Zealand, November 20, 2010. Krazy Alienz is a unique take on Space Invaders, which is designed to capture the feel of the original game, but also offer some modern twists which enhance the gameplay rather turn it into a mindless button bashing session.

Skill-Shot bonus level is not one for the button mashers! With this bonus level type, your accuracy will be tested to the limits. Again, the aim is pretty simple. At any one time there will be a single Alien highlighted with flashing colours and twinkling stars. That is the only alien you are allowed to hit. You must destroy all Alienz, before they reach the bottom of the screen. If you hit the wrong one, then you’ll know to it and you can kiss those big points goodbye.

The blaster bonus level is for all you button bashers out there. The aim is simple. Blast UFOs and plasma balls, but don’t get hit. The UFO will appear from random directions, and may or may not swoop down before releasing plasma balls. The longer you last, the more frequent the balls will be dropped. The level of difficulty is directly proportional to the normal game mode level. The higher the level, the faster the UFO and plasma balls! The bonus level ends when your ship is hit by a plasma ball. Oh, and if it’s a multi-player session, the offender will be named and shamed ![]()

Occasionally you may notice a very pretty, shiny ball bounce on by, followed by a trail of magic stars. “What am I smoking?”, you may ask yourselves. Don’t be fooled, it really is part of the game ![]()

Hit an orange plasma ball to receive the Bounce power-up. Ahhh, bounce, my personal favourite and the best idea I have had for a while. Picture the scene. You are currently being bombarded my Alien missiles due to the Reign-of-Fire power-down being active. Along comes an orange plasma ball. You hit it and all those missiles bounce right back at ‘em at twice the speed, wiping out whole columns of Alienz!

Hit a purple plasma ball to receive the Sloooow power-up. This will slow down the Alienz and their missiles to a snail’s pace. You can now relax in the comfort of the knowledge that you can eradicate those blighters with ease. One thing to note though. Keep your eyes peeled for stray missiles hanging about towards the bottom of the screen. Yup, keep ‘em peeled, else KABOOM!

Hit a light-blue plasma ball to receive the Greased-Lightening power-up. Once active, your ship will move faster than ever before, allowing you to dodge those bullets, catch up with those Alienz and reach places faster than you ever have before. The possibilities are endless. Endless, I say, endless!!

Hit a pink plasma ball to receive the Rebuild power-up. This will cause your bases (sheilds) to rebuild themselves. Not only that, whilst they are rebuilding Alien missiles will be unable to penetrate them, however, your missiles will go through them like butter! You’ll know when they are rebuilding, as they turn into semi-transparent wobbly jelly like things.

Hit a yellow plasma ball to receive the Side-Guns power-up. I’m really glad that I added this one in towards the end of the project, as it’s super-cool! When activated, you will get two mini-ships, one either side of the screen, moving up and down in opposite directions. When you fire a missile, the side-guns will fire out rockets across the screen. Note that they will only fire rockets if there are no previously fired rockets remaining on the screen.

Hit a blue plasma ball to receive the Multi-Bullets power-up. Can you guess what you get?
That’s right, get bashing those buttons! Fire to your heart’s content! Enough said.

Hit a green plasma ball to receive the Rockets power-up. Rockets are cool. With one blast, you can wipe out a whole column of Alienz. If you wipe out four or more Alienz in one blast, you will receive a “Good Rocketing” bonus.

Hit a red plasma ball to receive a Rewind power-up. Whilst this power-up is active, the Alienz will reverse their direction and head their way back towards the top of the screen faster than they worked their way down. That’s not all, if you can hit any of the blighters on their way back up, you’ll receive a “Rewind-Hit” bonus. What do bonus points make? No, not prizes, but more score. More score = extra lives!

Krazy Alienz’ power-up mechanism is pretty simple. Every now and again, a UFO will move across the top of the screen. Occasionally, it will drop a plasma ball. To receive a power-up, just blast the plasma ball with your missile. The colour of the plasma ball determines which power-up you will receive:

Krazy Alienz is a unique take on the classic game Space Invaders. It offers gameplay similar to ther original, along with some interesting powerups/downs, which enhance the gameplay, rather than turn it into a pure button bashing session.
